78 There are few references to the Bull name in Finkenthal (or the Altkalen parish) before Joachim Bull was a witness in 1739 or when he married Catharina (Stolte) Bastmann in 1742.

It is possible that the Bull family was from another nearby town, such as Brudersdorf, where the name is found in early church records.

A baptism record for Joachim Bull has not yet been found.
